Your Baby Girl

When I was born, you held me in your hands and I was your new baby girl.  Since then I've grown and changed.  I am no longer a helpless infant; I am an independent young woman, but I will always be your baby girl.
I will strive to reach my fullest potential. I will go to college and learn things you may not know or would never have been able to teach me, but I will always be your baby girl.  I will experience love and loss. I will feel pain and joy. I may even encounter some of the things you worked so hard to hide me from; I will lose the innocence you fought so hard for me to keep. Even through all of that, I will always be your baby girl.
I will become the person I was meant to become; I will be great and I will impact the lives of many. All that I do will be because of you. I will live my life because you gave me a life to live. I will be great because you taught me how. What I do will impact the lives of many because you showed me how to love. I am who I am because of you. I will always be your baby girl.
