So unfocused and focused all at the same time. Almost like a picture with a raindrop on a leaf. It is completely in focus while the leaf and the tree, in its entirety, is blurred. Its presence is recognized, but not pronounced. Only the raindrop is of great enough importance. The piano and each key hit that stands out above all other noise. The conversation in a room full of talkative people. The aroma of hot cinnamon buns that rises above all other freshly baked goods. Our senses zone in on that which is familiar, foreign, or necessary for us to pick up on, but all this time we miss everything else: the gigantic willow tree in the rain, the song that could've changed your life, the party thrown for you, and the once in a lifetime visit to a bakery in Paris. You may come across it again, but will you allow yourself to miss it once more?
